Storytellers: Margot Bordelon, Ric Walker, and J. Adams Oaks. Directed by Dan Stermer. Music by dueling DJs - The Ordeal. Hosted by local comedian Cameron Esposito
2nd Story teams up with the Chicago Reader’s singles community, Reader Matches, to bring you the ultimate Anti-Valentines Day event. Mismatched: Horror Stories from Chicago’s Dating Front will feature tales of urban dating woe, from shameful hookups to brutal no-shows and everything in between. Our 2nd Story storytellers will share the stage with the winners of the Reader’s Best Bad Date contest, and our dueling DJs - The Ordeal - will keep the party going strong after the stories are finished. And if you make any new mistakes that night, we’ll take the blame. This event is aimed at singles, although all are invited to attend.

Join 2nd Story for a story-filled Valentine’s Day as three of our favorite storytellers pair up with their partners to weave three love-tastic tales. Celebrate the joys, heartaches and realities of the modern relationship. With flowing wine, a roaring fire, and stories that make you want to snuggle up with your special someone, it’s 2nd Story’s most romantic night yet. Ain’t love grand? We certainly think so.
A Note About Seating for performances at Red Kiva and Webster's Wine Bar
2nd Story is a very popular event with a very limited seating capacity. Show up early to get the seat that you want. Box office check-in begins at 6:30pm nightly. Seating begins at 7pm. We ask that all parties are complete before we seat them and we seat all parties in the order in which they arrive. Stories begin between 7:30pm and 7:45pm. Performances last roughly one hour and 45 minutes.
In addition, due to the communal nature of 2nd Story, you may be asked to share a table with a friendly stranger. We hope you don’t mind.
Keep checking back—we're adding more all the time!
