What's the difference between the 2nd Story Monthly Series and the 2nd Story Festival?
While the stories are, stylistically, very similar, our Monthly Series features performances only by those storytellers in our storytelling cycle. For the Annual Festival, we accept outside submissions, hold auditions and invite special guests to perform. Additionally, local musicians and DJs are asked to collaborate on the sonic design of the stories, as well as play brief sets in between stories. Finally, 12 local theatre directors work to craft one individual evening of the 2nd Story festival.
Can I get food at 2nd Story?
Absolutely. Webster's Wine Bar features a terrific seasonal menu of small plates that emphasizes fresh ingredients. The Spot serves bar food, with a twist. Red Kiva, though a traditional nightclub, does offer a variety of flatbread pizzas. Won't you join us for dinner as well?
How do I get the seat that I want?
Show up early. For the Monthly Series, tickets go on sale at 6:30pm and can be purchased in cash from the box office. For the Annual Festival, tickets are available online through the 2nd Story website. At 6:45pm nightly, the doors to 2nd Story will open for all online ticket holders to choose their preferred seats. At 7:15pm nightly, individuals who have purchased tickets in person from the box office will be admitted. Stories start at 7:45pm.
In addition, due to the communal nature of 2nd Story and the limited space at most of our locations, you may be asked to share a table with a friendly stranger. We hope you don't mind.
What happens if tickets are sold out?
For the Annual Festival, after the online tickets sell out, there will be a limited number of walk-up tickets available for purchase from the box office beginning at 6:30pm. And while we try to accommodate everyone. Walk-up tickets may be standing room only.
For the Monthly Series, we try to admit everyone who wants to see 2nd Story, but sometimes we sell out. Please accept our apologies if you are unable to gain entrance.
How can I tell a story at 2nd Story?
